Seeing Red

Giovanni stood crossly before his gathering of Rockets. All those who could come, did. All those who could come and didn't were fired.

"As you know, once a year I announce the new Red Rockets to you all", he said loudly, his voice being projected by a microphone attached to his obnoxious red suit.

The Rockets looked at one another, confused.

"Yes, I know this happened three months ago", Giovanni explained. The Rockets were still confused.

"But we have a late entry", he said, smiling. "May I present to you, Agent 482 ... Red Rocket Janet DiMarco."

"Janet?", a Black Rocket in the front row said in disbelief. He looked to his blonde partner. "Janet?!"

The girl nodded to her green haired partner. "I think the Boss flipped his lid, Butch."

"Or brainwashing, Cassidy", Butch replied, frowning.

"Or she threatened to call her mom again", Cassidy said. Butch nodded. "That's gotta be it."

Janet skipped out before them, smiling brightly with a childlike innocence. "Hi! My name's Janet, but you were already told that, weren't you?"

A Red Rocket in the front row grimaced. "Giovanni, is this some sort of joke?", she asked, standing up and brushing back her raven colored locks.

"No", Giovanni scowled. "Agent 607, take your seat, please."

"But this is ridiculous", she continued. "She looks like she's ten!"

Janet frowned angrily. "I'm twelve!"

"As if that's any better", the Red replied hotly. She turned to her superior. "Giovanni. This must be a joke. Tell us all it's a joke and get it over with."

Domino, who was sitting along the sidelines, sighed. Giovanni nodded to her, and the teenaged girl took out a black tulip and approached the Red. She dropped the beautifully evil flower, and darted back. In a wave of electricity, the Red was silenced.

"Thank you, Domino", Giovanni said curtly.

"Anytime", she responded in an indifferent tone.

A man in the back poked his partner in the ribs, who jerked her head around in attention. "This might be worse than the time they let a White become a Red", he whispered in annoyance.

"Tell me about", she responded with the same tone.

Janet looked at the Rockets, smiling cheerfully.

Giovanni scowled. "Well, I'm done announcing."

The Rockets didn't move.

"Why are you still sitting there being useless?! Get to work or I'll feed you some Arcanine!", he bellowed. Some Rocks dashed off, while others lingered behind, not having any missions for the moment.

Janet walked up to a group of the Rockets, and smiled up at them. A tall boy in a White Rocket uniform arched his eyebrows. "Uh, hey kid."

"Hi", Janet chirped. "My Daddy got me a bazooka!"

The Rockets seemed unaffected by this random announcement.

"Oh, really?", a girl in a Black Rocket uniform asked. "What kind?"

"Don't know, but it's pink", she said excitedly. The other Rockets felt sweatdrops go down their foreheads.

"Pink?", the boy asked.

"Pink", Janet replied, grinning ear to ear. "Wanna see it?"

The Rockets gave one another confused looks. "Uh, sure."

"Kay!", the young girl said excitedly. She dashed over to Domino, and smiled.

"Domi, hand me my bazooka!", she ordered, still smiling.

Domino handed over the pink weapon of destruction. "Just try not to bring the building down, okay?"

"Thank you, Domi!", Janet replied, skipping away. Domino scowled, and shouted after her-- "The name is Domino!"

Janet ignored her, and dragged her obnoxiously pink weapon of mass destruction to show to the older Rockets.

One of the Rockets looked at her, unimpressed. "That might be the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen."

Janet frowned. She turned around. "Daaaaaad-dy!", she called. Giovanni stopped his conversation with a Red Rocket, and walked over to his daughter. "What is it now, Janet?"

"He said my bazooka looked ridiculous", she whined, pointing to the Rocket in question. The Rocket face-faulted at seeing who her father was.

"Robert, you're fired", Giovanni said nonchalantly. He looked down at Janet. "Feel better?"

"Yes", she replied. Her father nodded, and wet back to resume his conversation with the Red Rocket.

Robert hung his head in sadness, and looked to his partner with tears streaming down his face. "Know what I learned today?"

"What?", the woman asked.

"Never anger a parent, especially if he owns your ass", the boy sobbed. His partner nodded.

Janet was busy with her bazooka. "Here, watch me hit that window", she said, pointing towards the glass in the distance. The Rockets watched with interest.

"Think she has potential?", one whispered.

Her partner frowned and continued to watched. Janet pulled the trigger, but the bomb arched and blew up the wall, creating a big between the auditorium and the men's bathroom.

The boy shook his head. "She's mincemeat."

Janet smiled weakly. "S-sorry!"

Giovanni saw this moment of disaster, and slapped his hand against his forehead. "Why me? Why meeee~?"

Domino closed her eyes and thought a moment. "We're all doomed", she stated. "Janet will be the death of us."

"Yes, we all saw that coming. But did it have to happen so soooon~?", Giovanni sobbed.

Domino sobbed along with him. "Why~?!"

Janet fired another shot, but this one didn't have time to arch. The roof crashed a splintered, dusting everyone with debris and dust. She coughed, and shook some dust from her hair with a nervous smile. "Oops."
